NOTE: Orders for Expandable Pilots MUST include PILOT PART No., SUFFIX and DESCRIPTION. -Spacer available only for 150-8(5/16") expandable pilot. Used on VW Rabbit or any engine with valve guided less than 1 1/2"(38mm) long.
INFORMATION ON PILOTS
100 & 120 Small Series Pilots have a .297" diameter top section and are used with small "100" series cutters.
100 Series Solid Pilots
Pilots are tapered. Measurement is taken at the centre of pilot. The taper is 0.0007"/inch.
120 Series Expandable Pilots
Pilot measurement is taken at the centre of expanding collet. Collets expand a total of 0.020" (0.5mm) from 0.003" under the stated size to 0.017" over stated size.
140, 150 & 200 Standard Series Pilots have a .375"diameter top section and are used on the "200" and "600" series cutters.
140 Series Solid Pilots
Pilots are tapered. Measurement is taken at the centre of pilot. The taper is 0.0007"/inch.
150 Series Expandable Pilots
Pilot measurement is taken at the centre of expanding collet. Collets expand a total of 0.020" (0.5mm) from 0.003" under the stated size to 0.017" over stated size.
200 Series Expandable Pilots are similar to 150 Series expanding pilots but have longer collets to fit heads with extra long guides.
